I have just received the following via e-mail:

"Retired (Kentucky State Police) Major Jay McReynolds was admitted to Hardin Memorial Hospital (Elizabethtown, KY) last Thursday and had to undergo emergency surgery for a ruptured hernia that had punctured his bowel and leaked toxins into his body. He is out of ICU as of Monday and stable but it will be a long recovery. Due to his past medical condition (heart transplant 23 years ago) the risk of infection is high because of his low immune system so prayers are needed. He is able to have visitors and phone calls if you so desire."

He will continue to need all our prayers!

I received the following via e-mail this morning:

"Thanks to all for the prayers. I'm glad to tell you that Major Jay McReynolds should be released from Hardin Memorial Hospital by the first of next week. His recovery has been amazing and unbelievable after all he has been through at his age. Thanks again for the prayers, visits and phone calls."

    See, prayers DO work!

Indeed they do, as the Father of our souls is gracious to His children.
