Well, imagine my surprise that someone from Washington state would have a problem with a military unit.

Shocked, I tell you, completely shocked.

As someone who has watched them practice for over 40 years along the Fort Morgan peninsula, I say to said author, bite me.

It is rare seeing them does not remind me what it is to be an American, and what freedom looks like. If someone feels triggered in any way, or wants to ***** about the military industrial complex, understand it, and yes, they are entitled to their opinion under the 1st Amendment. By all means, ***** on, raise hell, do what you feel you need to do.

Just remember, those beautiful blue bastards symbolize why you have the freedom to complain. Never, never forget that.

NO! The best of the best do more to support the American spirit in 30 minutes than anything I can think of.

Why is anyone listening to anything from Washington state?

You seem to think that everyone in Washington hates the military. There is more support for the military here than you could ever hope to have in Redneck Riveria...where ever that is. I guess you believe everything you read...

I was walking around Seattle Thursday and trying to find them. I could hear them but the cloud level was pretty low and with all the buildings I could not see them. There where plenty of people also looking for them. I didn’t know about seafair or I might have stayed a couple extra days. I wondered why all the navy and marines where wandering around downtown. Had breakfast at biscuit ***** next to a group of navy divers. One was navy diver with a dolphin. He probably had some stories...

Saw the blue angels in Vero Beach a few months ago. One of the jets limped back mid show after eating one of our pelicans.

    1) The Seattle Times wouldn't let me view the article because I am using an adblocker.
    2) No surprise that an article like that would come out of that liberal pig sty.

For those outside the area, don't forget that we have Bremerton, Whidbey Island, JBLM and Fairchild AFB.
Many American heroes have served in those places.

Well, to be fair; the doofus would probably change his mind if he ever saw the Thunderbirds.

I don't know anything about the Blue Angels, but I would think them and military rifle teams are both recruiting and developing the highest levels of their respective skills in a way that helps the US military to be stronger.

I believe that people around the country look at a state as a whole (California for instance) and figure the vast majority of people there to be a bunch of counter-culture misfits.

While there are many good people in places like San Francisco, Portland and Seattle, I don't blame them one bit for thinking this way.

Haha. Thunderbirds even sounds goofy, sort of like a 50's cartoon or something!

    Disband them all.

Then reorganize them into 5 new groups so we can enjoy them even more.

This is just a copycat progressive move. Chris Daly (a then SF Supervisor) was, I think, the first to express such notions, more recently John Avalos (another progressive SF Supervisor wanted the same thing).

It gets worse, Gerardo Sandoval (then a SF Supervisor) went on national television and stated he didn't think we needed a military at all. He is now a Superior Court Judge. When he ran unopposed for the seat on the bench, the CA State Bar rated him "unfit" to serve as a judge. He won in a landslide (i.e. unopposed).

A cute aside is Chris Daly, a college drop out, whose parents were both life long "public servants" came to SF after dropping out of college and became a homeless advocate. He was very strong on tenants rights and a big advocate for homeless rights during his tenure (ironically, he was roundly hated by his Tenderloin constituents while their Supervisor). He had a lot of rental property with his wife in Fairfield CA (very near Travis AFB), where rents are not controlled.

Ah, the Redneck Riviera is the Gulf Coast region. Ya know, home to about 50 military bases? In my case, not that far from Pensacola, the home of the Blue Angels. Ergo, why I have been privileged to watch them practice for a long time.

And what was I thinking, of course Washington state has been known as a bastion of military support the world over. Well, not really, maybe all those folks whom work for Boeing might have some patriotism, then again, maybe not.

Seems to be a lot of narrow minded people in this country...liberals and conservative. It's too bad everyone is judged by the actions of a few....It's kinda like saying a couple of bad cops means all of them are...not really fair is it?
