Well, my project is completed. Boiled Linseed Oil - many hand-rubbed coats over several weeks followed by two coats of Minwax Wipe-On Poly. This wood is absolutely gorgeous in person. I love this retro look !

Very nice placement of the leaves to give it a natural and native look much like a seagull walking on the beach while the porn stars are going at it in the next scene.

I love and matte finish 870P. That is so classic looking. Very awesome.

Thanks guys. The wood has an almost "wet" look to it now. I don't want it too glossey. The pics don't do it justice. Right now it's just a grade highter than "satin sheen". I think I'm done with this beauty. Now to put a few duty "character marks" on her for individuality. ;)

Yessir. It's the factory Remington that came on the gun. If you don't want the front barrel clamp I recommend shopping for another because this one has a groove pressed around it for the clamp bolt to ride in. I prefer the clamp so the tube don't unthread on me so that's a non-issue to me.

check out wilson combat, they have +1 and +2 extensions for about $45 shipped. They are rock solid and don't require a clamp.

Great job! Looks really, really nice.

Great to see people using elbow grease instead of just swapping for new parts.
