I purchased some 870 parts and the receiver is in good shape but the threads for attaching the stock are stripped. Can anyone tell me what size tap I need to clean up the threads on this puppy?

    Thanks

That is the receiver stud part number 18551 and it screws out. It retails from Remington for $3.30. If it is stripped do not try and repair it as this can strip your stock bolts. Screw it out, throw it away and screw another one in. It is not worth saving $3 to risk messing up a stock bolt or risk getting a stock bolt in there and not being able to get it out.
