My Dad passed away on 17 Oct of complications from ALS. He was a great guy and will be missed by everybody that knew him. He was always willing to help a stranger or fix a neighbors faucet, lamp, whatever, never had an unkind word toward anybody.

Participated in operations against enemy forces in South and Centeral Korea 5 Mar 51 - 16 Mar 52.

He got me my first Crew Served weapon, 1964. My brother is my A-Gunner. ;f

He was a wholsale meat salesman his entire career.

The VW was his last project. Together with my brother, they restored about a dozen cars, mostly older Mustangs. He finished this during his battle with ALS.

    On my brothers HD.

I didn't follow him into the Marines, but I followed him into service for our Country. ANG/USAF/USAFR 1978-1999.

    YIKES! ;P

With my Mom, he raised three kids that turned out ok. My Sister is a Chef, my Brother works for Xerox and I became a pilot.

We were all with him at the end. He died peacefully. Three Marines were there after Mass to do the flag folding. Always a moving thing to see. I know he would have appreciated it. He certainly deserved it.

There is a huge hole in my life that can never be filled. I know time will heal it though. He lived a good, full, life. I can only aspire to be as good a man as he was. I'll miss you Dad.

A wonderful tribute to your Father! Thank you for sharing it with us. I wish I could have met the man. It would have been my priviledge to do so.
