Now who would have ever thought that a glass bridge might crack?

Must have been some serious tension on the glass for something so light to cause a crack when dropped.

Or its just a flimsy excuse from an industrial size propaganda machine.

    Still...cool bridge.

The Chinese could produce quality but their greed gets in the way. Drunken thought. Is it accurate?

Back in 2006 I got to help do some shop drawing detailing on the "glass guardrail" for the Skywalk at the Grand Canyon Hualapai Native tribes project. We had three levels of Engineers checking and rechecking all of the design and construction.

Didn't the CA DOT hire a Chinese firm to build the bridge in the Bay area? How is that one turning out?

Even before this I am pretty sure I would avoid a glass bridge or walkway. This just helped to cement the decision.

They were supposed to use Gorilla Glass, not let a gorilla stand on the glass.

I remember a tempered glass demonstration in high school.
A tempered glass hammer was used to drive a nail into a board.

Then a small scratch was made in the glass, breaking the trapped stresses in the glass .... It crumbled into small pieces ...

Think one of those is in the Havassi reservation over the Grand Canyon.
