Any oil reserves we need in the future?

yep-nvm. With our current political set up, this clown is free to do whatever he wants w\o interference from us. Maybe Venezuela's neighbors will step in and handle their own neighborhood problems.

I know, just kidding, they will all go for their share too...

Iraq had the world's four largest army at the time, is a huge country in terms of area, and is on the other side of the world. Ven. is a pimple compared to that and is virtually next door to us.

    Venezuela is jus
Venezueala is just as big as Iraq (not that it matters), has a belligerent dictator for a ruler, has more oil than Iraq ever dreamed of, and has a population that is itching for a revolution. They've got a butt ton of Russian hardware and the dictator desperately needs to drum up some nationalistic fervor that only a war can gen up. Unlike Iraq, Venezueala is in our backyard and the last time I checked, the Monroe Doctrine hasn't been revoked....specifically the Rosevelt Corollary.

I've spent quite a bit of time in Venezuela. It's ripe for revolution. Baby Chavez knows this and he's running out of angry words to direct at the U.S. He needs a shooting war, just like Sadam did, in order to direct the nation's anger at a foreign nation that he can actually defeat without costing him too much money.
This will happen if a revolution doesn't come first.
The only question is, what will be our response?

The terrain of Venezuela is unlike anything we've ever fought it. It makes Vietnam look like Kansas on a spring morning.

3rd world country going after another 3rd world country.

Why should we care? Other than giving Zero an excuse for allowing more illegals in on the pretense of humanitarian aid for refugees.

    Nah. Would never happen. Right?

Taking the path that George W. Bush and his regime took?

Sorry but either we get involved for the right reasons. We should not take their oil or resources but allow them to use it to build up their own nation. Take the high road for once. When was the last time the US actually cared about who they bombed? WW Two? I don't think we cared about the Holocaust as we had our own going on here against African Americans. If we were not attacked I don't think we would have cared. WW One? Maybe but I doubt it.

So lets go liberate these folks or lets let them be. Perhaps we can use our intelligence agencies and special operations forces to do it without more than that being needed.

IF we let these folks in under the status of humanitarian refugees they would not be illegals. You do realize that not all people south of the border are illegals? White folks can be illegal to.

Is that a trick question? Kerry and Power will use harsh language and Obama will say "Well Venezuela has a point, they have been held down by racist running dog capitalist pigs".

The same reason we cared about Iraq. Venezuela has the world's largest oil reserves. The. Largest.

I think maybe your confusing Bush and Obama
Bush did invade, not just give them money
And I wish we had taken their oil, like all the liberals said we did (blood for oil and all that)
And we did liberate them, then let them sh^t all over us

What universe are you in that Bush just gave them money, or took their oil

Ok either he is being facetious and I'm an idiot and shouldn't worry about it
Or he actually believes it and he's an idiot and I shouldn't worry about it

So we spent trillions of dollars on Iraq or did we not? Did not Herr Bush take a budget surplus and destroy it by spending money on an Iraq war? Did not contractors make millions while rebuilding Iraq? Did you forget all this or just choose to ignore it? He did not give them money directly all of the time, though many times we did, but the Bush regime did spend it like water on Iraq. The Obama administration did not give them money to the same extent and went through with the Bush Regime's plan to withdraw.

As far as taking their oil, we should not have taken it even if we did. We had no right to it. We invaded a sovereign nation for no reason. You say we liberated them? So by creating ISIS/ISIL we liberated them? You have some strange definitions. They did not crap all over us, we crapped all over them and then took our ball and went home.

I can see more of a necessity of having to fight in our own hemisphere rather than the big litter box.

Yep, twice the size of Iraq, double the proven oil reserves (more than Saudi Arabia), mandatory military service and roughly 300,000 coming of conscription age each year. You could quibble over relative preparedness, but there would have to be a powerful reason for us to attack.

They would have to be eating babies, or some other well proven reason.

Guyana has WMD's. Or is that Portugal? No, we're not scheduled to invade Portugal for another decade. So Venezuela is diverting their Bananas to make........what do you make with bananas? Banana splits. Enough banana splits to reach critical mass......no, can't do that, the banana cloud will draw the attention of the UN, then we'll have to negotiate inspections, but Hillary misled O about the plantain plantations before scrubbing her hard drive, with banana oil? Awe screw it. I need a banana Daiquiri before I go bananas!
