couple of question?? Are you using lead or FMJs .3 to .4 gr difference. Is your barrel freebored to accept long loaded rounds 1.200 OAl??

4.7gr of N320 does it for my P16. Lead or Jacketed, ' don't matter.

    Jojo,

I think you have to weight the heads. If you are using copper coated from SH. Ang timbang nya is 190+-.

Here are my .40 cal recipes: OAL=1.160 in.
    PF 173-175
    4.6gr N320 180gr armscor fmj
    4.5gr N320 190gr copper plated heads
    5.4gr N340 180gr armscor fmj
    6.1gr N340 170gr fiocchi fmj

si batangueno tried and battle tested yung mga 200gr lead heads nang Stronghand. Consistent power factor at 170!

whoo!!!! you mean you are loading factory lenght at major. The pressure difference between 1.125 vs 1.200 OAL is night and day. If you are loading that short good luck.

isn't that the reason why batangueno got minor scoring in a not so distant match last year. his PF was to close for comfort, tama ba?

    In my Para Ordnance P16
    I use CCI Blazer brass
180 gr. lead, Round nose Flat point
    Winchester primers
Winchester 231 powder 4.3 gr and will up to 4.5 gr for cushion
    chronographed averages:
    Velocity 896.6 fps
    power factor 165.9
    Very accurate from a rest
As always use at your own risk.

yep, but those heads were from first option. declared weight was 200gr but when weighed, it was 190+grs only. Noon lang nag minor at 167-168 yata.

last rosales level 3, load data ni batangueno was 4.1gr n320 200gr lead, OAL=1.170in. 175 PF.

I use 1.190 OAL, 'coz factory lenght won't feed properly (intermittent). I thought the OAL was taken into consideration already, since he's loading for a P16.
I've also use this load on my Glock 22 (OAL of 1.135) with no ill effect. I only use once fired police range brass from a cop friend. I won't try this load on a well used brass of course.

I am just trying to be clear here that fast powders and heavy bullets with a short overall length ( loaded to major) will have a higher pressure spike and will likely cause case separation ( KABOOM!).

some little cratering but no flattening. I know its a sign of high pressure, but I don't worry about it, as I see it on +p/+p+ factory loadings too.

' agree 100%! Stay with medium to slow burning powders on .40 cal. With heavy bullets, I only use slow powders.

I use zero 200 grainers with V V 320.@ 1.200 OAL with no problems. OAL has a lot to do with decreasing pressure ot safe levels.
