I have heard through the years that handloaded ammunition ia taboo for self-defense shootings. Now folks have been reloading ammunition for about 100 years, has there ever been someone put at fault or disadvantage by the use of reloaded cartridges? Is this issue part of any case law?

Well, my hand-loaded defensive cartridges are a bit less powerful than the +p+ 9x19 loadings out there, so the "wanting ammo more powerful than factory loads" doesn't work with me. I'll just keep on carrying my 34 rounds of +p+ 115gr JHP cartridges. More than enough left over for the criminologists to test.
