After being hospitalized last week for a severe head injury suffered in a fall, Reggie passed away yesterday. A friend and fellow teammate from the Young Thundering Herd, Reggie was 66 years old. I know as we grow older we say goodbye to people more frequently, but this was a real gut punch.

Sorry for the lose of your friend and teammate. You guys were a special group and I'm sure had a special bond. I've used that movie as a teaching tool a couple times with Jr High football players I coach.

    God's speed young man.

When I was being recruited to play for Marshall's 1971 team by Red Dawson, I asked him his thoughts on the upcoming season. In his typical style he didn't hesitate, he didn't even blink, he just looked me straight in the eye and said, "We've got a big job ahead of us, so we're looking for people with broad shoulders, strong backs and big hearts." I think as much as any of us on that team, Nate and Reggie exemplified that thought.
