Im looking for a red dot sight for my G17. CMORE and Aimpoint seem to be popular though Aimpoints seem to cost way more than CMORE. Im thinking of buying the CMORE sight and the "T.H.E." mount for it from topglock.com for $250 and $75 respectively. I have seen the Carver mounts. They cost a lot more and they say you need to modify your ejection port by 0.1 inches for relyability, which I refuse to do. Before I take the plunge and spend $325, does anyone have any better suggestions? Please help.

JD, I have a Carver Mount on my G34. I did not modify the ejection port and have had NO problems at all. I have a Leupold/ Gilmore red dot on the mount. I'm very happy with it all.

Yes it is just for range work. I don't compete. I have a ruger 22/45 I put a BSA red dot on. I love it. Its the best thing I ever did to that gun. Im not gonna put a BSA on my Glock though.

Well, let us know what you decide and how it works out. As for me, the slide-mount units would be my choice for range work also. www.topglock.com and www.glockmeister.com sell mount-and-red-dot kits last time I looked. You'll probably want to check those out also.

is there an option for Glocks that dont have the accessory rail?

How would you put a Red dot sight on one of those?

    I have a G17 that was made back around '92 ;)

I shoot a cheap Red Dot with it when it is in the MechTech CCU

But when it transforms back into pistol mode there is no way that i can see to get a sight on it

Aimtech makes a coupla' different scope mounts to fit the Glock pistols...including one that will work with earlier, NON-finger-grooved frames...HTH....mikey357

Just thought we would let you folks know we have the Trijicon MS03 in stock now.

We also have the MS19 mount (for a Carver, GIS, etc) but do not have the MS24 mount (this is the Glock rear sight replacment mount for the MS03).

    Here are the relevant links:

    Trijicon MS03

    Weaver / Picatinny Mount

    Thanks!

Bobby also has a "Hunter" version of the Carver mount which places the red dot higher (the fixed sights can still be seen). This version shouldn't require any modification of the pistol.

Do you expect to have the MS24 mount any time soon? I might be interested in trying a "slide rider" red dot.

We are ordering them from Trijicon along with the HK, SIG, etc. We will post back once we receive them.

Angula, Are the mounting dimensions for the MS03 the same as the old Optima 2000?

    Interesting question.

Here is a good link for the long version:

    http://www.jprifles.com/1.6.1.php

In short what I have found is this; both Trijicon and Jpoint import the same sight from the UK! Which means, by extension, the mounts and accessories are all identical but for the name on the side.

And to answer your question directly, the Tasco Optima will fit the mounts for Jpoint/Trijicon.

    Hope this helps.
