***Folks, before you make any ASSUMPTIONS, I am an FFL with outstanding feedback on this forum. Thanks***

    Hey guys,

Just read the other day that since this "outbreak" the FBI NICS received over 3 million background check requests. Approx 6000 9mm weapons were sold in 1 hour. One of my distributors had about 150 different 9mm Glocks in stock including MA and CA compliant and those 10rd mags as well. Was able to get one for my friends who indicated that breakins are picking up in his Philly suburbs. Went back this morning to get a few more... all gone. Unusual for a viral scare that actually is not lethal like the Ebola but shows that people will use any bad scenario to go out and claim other people's property. Yeah... OPP... like the song.

In any event, chime in with what's going on in your areas. Here in Mesa, AZ things are calm(crime wise, hoarding is crazy) but again we carry without a license and people are aware of that and act accordingly.

Be safe out there and regards,

    Lev

Honestly, if not for the internet and TV, we wouldn’t know there was an issue. Our shelves are less stocked and a few things are unavailable, but it’s all select stuff. If you need meat, there’s meat, but you might have to settle for a cut not your preference.

Don't know what's being bought, but people are sure buying. Here in CO, the state background check system is being overwhelmed.

Background checks normally take only a few minutes. But as of yesterday, there were thousands of names in the queue, and checks are taking over 48 hrs to complete.

I know you didn’t just admit to committing a straw purchase online for the world to see.

Not sure if this response was meant for me or someone else, but makes no sense either way... What part of I am an FFL and "my distributors" did you not see?

Kinda nutty in grocery stores - however, still plenty of Guinness and fuel available in Oro Valley. The Tucson city council, as usual, sheet in it's nest with stupid (not well thought out or expressed) proclamations regarding business closings. Have not been to any gun stores - no need.

Pima County maintains a pretty good virus info site.

Overall, no big deal yet. Feel sorry for the folks in NYC and Seattle.

I went with my son to a local large gun shop to pick up his transfer and the parking lot was packed.
It’s actually a pretty large shop.
We went inside and there was no way to get close to the 45’ gun counter. They had pallets of ammo people were picking through. At the three cash registers in the front each line had 20-30 people in it. It was unbelievable. I was there a couple of weeks ago and it was normal business.
I have read articles about guns and ammo sales spiking but until I seen it I kind of dismissed them.
He never was able to pick it up yesterday and he said he’ll try another day.
In my area most shops closed down in the last few years so there’s not a lot of shops in the area.
This was in the Akron Canton area of Ohio.
My thoughts are that these are not gun people because gun people have their guns and ammo already.

I can vouch for Philly getting out of hand, glad I have more than I need of what I have. I’ll pray for those that are behind the curve.

All the local gun shops in my area are pretty much cleaned out. Couple months ago, gun store owners were crabby because they wern`t selling product. Now they`re crabby because they ARE selling product, because they cant get any product from the wholesalers. Everybody so dang grumpy.

Last place I went was Academy to pick up a few things for a range trip. Busier than usual at the gun counter, but not too bad overall. I'm picking up a gun tomorrow at my favorite FFL. Not really a gun shop, so FFL is just a small sideline for them. Never any delays there.

My LGS told me today that, according to the ATF, gun sales are up 230% since the chinese flu broke out big-time.

I guess Joe Biden will have a harder time banning 9mm handguns, God forbid he is somehow elected.

Stopped by Cabelas just to look. They had two glock left in the entire store. Bet that's never happened before.

Funny how many people are either ambivalent or against guns until the rubber hits the road.
