Looking for a new coffee maker. I'd like to keep it around $100. Non Bunn and non french press. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Someone on GT told me to try an Aero Press, not perfect, but it makes a good cup.

Cuisinart hands down. Makes the hottest coffee out of any maker I've used. It has a nice easy to pour carafe and it programs easy. We had a nice Black and decker and it leaked internally after only a few uses. I got my parents the $100 range Bunn and it's reliable but doesn't make coffee real hot. http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=16638943

Spend a little more and get a Keurig.

When my wife first talked about getting one, I thought, it could not make better coffee than my Mr. Coffee. Now that I have had one for the last 2 months, I can't live without it!!

kurig is good, more expensive. Bunn is made in america, not in china.

Had a bunn for years, problem free.

+1 on Mr. Coffee drip. OP, ymmv on size and model/features

*NOTE: If you're supplied through a major municipal water entity that has to treat the water before it's sent to you, then by all means use distilled water through your coffee maker, regardless of the make/brand of coffee maker, as the water makes a HUGE difference in the quality of the taste.

I recommend the $10 deals from Wal-Mart. The one I currently have is going on 10-11 years old and works great.

    Cuisinart only because they:

1: Make a great cup of coffee

    2: Their warranty is great.

We've had our Cuisinart's replaced under warranty a few times, in fact, I'm still trying to figure out why we have an extra one, never used, on the shelf in the basement as a spare. We currently have the one that doesn't have a pot, but brews a pot that you pour per cup. Here's the link.

Saying that, don't buy their can opener...

I think as you can already tell this is a real open ended question. Same as glock or 1911, or 9mm or .45.

It depends on what you need. Fast or slow, large pots of coffee or single cup, self grind or store bought, bags of grounds or pods or kcups, and many other factors.

Personally I just went with a Keurig a while back and I'm happy. It makes large enough cups for me fast and easy. It can also make tea, hot chocolate, cider, iced tea, and iced coffee. I got a steal of a deal at Costco. It came with the Mykcup so I can use any grinds of beans I want, not stuck to k-cups.

Go to gevalia.com and subscribe to their program. They usually have a promotion which includes a free coffeemaker.
