Looking for a good range bag. Something for pistols and a trip to the range.

Doesn't need to be big. Has to be of the highest quality, preferably made here at home.

I'm covered for rifle. I have a gun rug. Not for competition. Simple mode of transport to take a few pistols to the local range for an hour or two of fun.

I've had this bag by Elite Survival for about 4 or 5 years https://www.elitesurvival.com/range-bags/elite-range-bags-3-sizes/

The only thing I'm really opinionated about when it comes to bags is they have to hold up to a lot of weight - ammo and guns are heavy and I have a number of bags that start sagging/loosing shape when loaded down. I typically carry 3-4 guns and 400-600 rounds. This bag holds up.

I'm pretty sure I didn't pay as much as the website lists them for. I found it at a gun show. My next bag will probably be a roller. :D

I am thinking of getting the Adventure Tool Company gear bag as a range bag. They have options in codura or waxed canvas; I have other products them from in waxed canvas and it's top-notch, very durable stuff. Just wishing they would make firearms specific velcro name tapes "Glock" "9mm" or the like!

I have one of the digital camo range bags the NRA has been giving out as “gifts” for memberships that works for me when I take a few pistols to the range.

Depends on how you like to carry it. I have the old Dillon bag, which works fine as a tote. It has the pull-out stage bag, which can be nice for some purposes. CED makes a more compact version.

For a backpack, DAA wins hands-down. For a shoulder bag, I like the new Dillon, and that's probably what I'd get if I wanted a new one today. It also has a stage bag.

I'm a competitive shooter, and I don't mind dragging a tote around at matches if necessary. Most of the time I'm only moving the bag a few steps from the car. But even if you aren't shooting matches, travel and logistics can be considerations.

Here is another made in the USA option. Durable, [mostly] waterproof, inexpensive, suitable for everything you need for 1 - 2 pistols, ammunition, tools, etc. :

This is what I use. I put the gun in small padded handgun bag, then put it in the range bag. I typically carry a few screwdrivers, a sharpie, duct tape, eyes and 2 different kinds or ear protection, additional mags, uplula speedloader, a few other things, and of course ammo. For less than $10, I can't beat it for my needs right now.

And since I am a chevy fan, I bought a few patches on ebay for 3 bucks, and sewed them over the powerstroke stuff. Works for me

I've been using a Redhead 1856 model I picked up from Bass Pro on sale for $59.

They don't sell that midel anymore but do sell a RangeMaxx 3000 that's much like it. Mine came with a couple zippered pistol rug type cases. I bought a couple extra and can carry 4 pistols and ammo and ear pro in the main compartment, mags and tools in the ends and side pockets.
