I am partial to Gretch guitars, and the Peavey Classic 30 and Classic 50 amps cannot be beat for the price.

I've been out of guitars for quite a while, do those Peavey Classic amps still come with 4-10" speakers? Oooohhhhh.....

Ibanez there guitar are cheap and they sound
    really good!.

For the amp you don't need more then 25w for
just jamming at home. Crate makes good cheap
amps for a little more you can get a really good
    marshell amp.

Epiphone makes some good, reasonably priced Gibson ES-335 clones.

Got mine for around 500, love it.

Mine looks like the one on the left.

I would also agree on the Peavy Classic 30.
