hello all. im new to the forum, and have a question. I was cruising thru a midway flyer, and they have recoil buffer pads. said it reduces wear on slide. now i have had my G17 apart many times and have never seen such pad on my glock. what is it, and would it actually help anything? said it should be replaced every 1000 rds or so. :dunno:

Welcome to the club. I say with after market bells and whistles would only contribute to FTFs and the like. Just stick to the original design and enjoy your G17.

Don't worry, at some point we're all typical Glock owners, haha...always looking for things to make our pistols "better."

I consider them feel good parts. Glock did not see a need to put them in as a OEM part and I would not use them.
They may cause a problem since they take up space usually used by the recoil assembly.

    Billybad,

Stock G17's usually are good for 150,000+ rounds. Can you afford to snoot that much?

they're pretty popular with 1911 shooters and i think they might be legitimate on a 1911. someone saw an opportunity, or a need, to make them for glocks and increase their market base. i wouldn't use one a glock and would use one on 1911 without a second thought.
