I was on my way up to Rio Salado Shooting Range here in the Phoenix area today, to (FINALLY) run some ammo through my DB380. Needed to stop at the gas station to draw out a measly $20 so I could buy a couple of Powerball tickets for tomorrow nights draw and get a 32-oz drink for the range.
That's when I saw the receipt from the last user, still waiting to be torn off...(this is not a Photoshop job, it's the real deal, I assure you!) :wow:

    MUST BE NICE!

I posted this on another board, someone made the suggestion that I let it 'accidentally' fall out of my wallet while walking away from a very good-looking woman...:whistling:

Great advice, he gets the 'Playah of The Year' award!

With the way investing is going lately, might as well just keep it in the bank.

I leave those in the ATM on purpose to make others feel inadequate,....... did it work?

Alot of people have a crapton of money, and you wouldn't know it. An old Sgt. I had back in the day had $100,000 in checking. My eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw that, since he was only 3 years older than me and I had like $500 in checking. $80,000 was for reenlisting in iraq and the rest from 3 deployments.

    Not unheard of...

Buddy of mine was buying a piece of property. Paying cash. There was a holdup on the closing (pun intended) and he had to leave the money someplace until the deal happened. Told me he checked his balance every day! His was in the order of 150k so it would have made a good ATM receipt as well.

I went to an ATM and the last person left their receipt hanging there and it topped $300K - CHECKING account no less. As with the previous poster above, I think it was left on purpose.

^300k in checking is retarded. Don't the banks only insure it up to 100k?

You're that impressed by someone having $73k in the bank???
For all you know, that may be some 75-year-old's life savings.

    Context is everything...

some people have a well paying job and are financially responsible.
personally, I dont keep that much in checking, I move it to higher interest earning savings.

As for keeping it in the bank--it may be on its way through. I have five figures parked in my credit union savings account because we will shortly be paying off our second mortgage. While it is nice to see that balance, it will be a bummer to see what it becomes when the money is gone.

He only withdrew $200 for pocket money. For all we know that probably will last him a month, and is the reason why he has that much in the bank :whistling:

That is what is wrong with us, if we had $73K in the bank the first think you would do is spend it.

The FDIC raised that to $250,000.

Many people carry that and more.

I would not leave home with only $200 or less on me in cash.
Stuff happens... you never know what the day may bring.
Not every situation allows one the use of plastic for payment.
Not everyone has the same daily routine, goes to the same places (work, etc.) every day.
