The gun is a recently imported A series Pencil Barrel (not imported by Glock). I believe everything about it is original (no obvious upgrades/restored parts) and it doesn't appear that it was ever used much.

I personally have never seen a Glock rear sight like this one - or at least it didn't register if I did. Wondering if anyone else is familiar with it and the history or seen one before?

On the sides of the sight u-shape notches have been cut leaving a section of the side vertical. Looks like it was intended for a punch to be able to more easily remove/install the sight.

I think you’re right, it’s for a drift/punch/pusher. Apparently she was shooting a bit left.

That is obviously damaged by a sight tool installer. Horrible to see this.
I feel compelled to make it right.
Drift that old damaged one out and I will send you 5 new ones of the fixed variety to replace it.
Heck I’ll send you an aluminum drift for free.

Those are the oldest original Glock fixed sight.
I’m fortunate to have at least 2 A series handguns with those on it.
Very early sights before the adoption of the “Weekend” rear adjustable sight for US importation.
Some of those did come into the US on importable Glocks.

Where’s the rest of the handgun along with serial number prefix?

patched has a lot of info on that sight. From memory and guns I own it's a very early fixed sight.

Sorry pt we were responding at the same time! I agree with you.

Referred to as a Monday sight. Came right after the weekend sights.

Kinda looks like whoever was making it had a bit of a hangover

I've seen it before. But only once or twice.
