Not hard at all to do. Just take your time.
I put layers of tape all over the rear of the slide to protect from scratches. Getting the sight perfectly centered is an exercise in patience though.:whistling:

Put the slide in a bench vise with pine blocks taped to the jaws, and blue painters tape over the wood. Got the plain black rear with FO front, and really like them. Used a set of calipers to center them in the dovetail. Took about an hour with the fitting. BTW, Dawson is a really good company to deal with.
I took my rear sight off with a brass punch and hammer. Kinda buggered it up but I didn't care. Replaced the front and rear with Dawson's and they are great. I got the plain black in both sights because I like it that way. The rear sight was tight fitting and I could have relieved it some but drove it in the dovetail and it is solid. Mine is centered slightly to the right since I was shooting a little to the left. By the time I got it sighted in, I can shoot it just like my 1911 and it shoots dead on. I got the .205 front and could probably have gotten the .215 with no problem as I tend to still shoot about 1 1/2 in. high at 7 yds. but it is easy to hold down just a little. Doesn't take that much anyway. Definately close enough for any combat work.
Was looking at plain rear with possibly getting both plain and fo front since they are easier to change and I am not sure which I could see the best.
Vision is starting to change and noticed front sight was getting harder to focus. Just might have to do with age.:crying:been in denial on that one.
