Before when i was still active in airsoft we use to buy batteries from a RC shop somewhere in G. Araneta don't know lang if the shop is still open. That was three years ago.

I used to race 1/12 on-road rc cars on carpet track....magastos nga. Gulong pa lang lampas 2K for a race day. The fun part of RC is the assembly and the setup. We spend hours upon hours setting up our cars just to run for 5 mins hehehe! Pero enjoy naman siya.
Depende anong gusto mong gawin eh. If you just want to try it out, then I would suggest getting a Ready-To-Run kit. This would be the cheapest way to get into it. Pero first you would have to choose kung gusto mo electric or nitro. I think the cost is relatively the same. It's just that pag electric, you could probably run it indoors and hinde siya maingay. Kung nitro, medyo maingay pero masaya kasi nga maingay hehe!
If money and time is not an issue, i would go race 1/8 on road nitro cars. (http://www.serpent.com/product/903009) There used to be a race track near the go-kart track in Fort Bonifacio, I'm not sure if nandoon pa yun. But they used to race Serpents there. Astig ito, it even has two gears na auto pumapalit, 4 wheel drive and disc brakes! Also 10 yrs. ago they were using Novarossi engines that put out around 2 to 3 horse power. I'm sure baka mas malakas na ngayon, baka nasa 5 to 6hp na. Imagine that much power in an RC car:supergrin: Good luck!

Used to race electric offroad cars in the late 80's. For Japanese brand I suggest "Tamiya", for US brand "Associated". I used Futaba controllers.
