Rather sad. How lonely people are.

You’re lucky to be alive! Had she lured you into that cabin you might have got chopped into a blended jello salad. What if she’s really the chopped jello salad killer?? You don’t know. Be more careful in the future. With your social distancing saving you I mark this as a win for health and environment.

Well I failed to get across that many people are suffering during this lockdown. That actual harm is happening. Most people are social animals. Those who don’t live with family are very alone. I feel sorry for them. I try to call some weekly, monthly. A few have died. The funerals are not as good for the survivors IMO. Plus you cant just stop by to visit a week later, help remove some stuff....

Interesting, must be different in certain areas. I have some friends that have a wedding venue.
They have had weddings every Saturday and some Friday's since August from 100-400 people and not one case they’ve heard of.

The place I'm most lonely is in a crowded room.

It's the kids I feel sorry for. Their neurotic parents are passing it on to them. Mark my words, teen suicide is going to skyrocket in the next few years. And, oddly, no one will know why....

Unless you're an excon who OD'd in Minneapolis. Then you get nearly a state funeral with thousands in attendance.

I get it. Before COVID, most times when I visit a nursing home, some lonely, old soul would put on his or her best smile and try to talk to me.

As few of them still have full command of their faculties, the opportunity has passed. For most of us, we can get to know who we really are and become content with just being ourselves.

The annoying thing about being alone is you have limited means to address it courtesy of the kung flu.

Its not like you are being too lazy to make the effort to meet people when mixing might curtail your loneliness but also yourself!!

What tears me up is the ones who call out. “Help me, help me,”. Or “can you find my house, can you call my son...”. I respond. “Let me find a worker” I look over to staff. (They shake their head). I get the Idea that it’s her lament to everyone.
Growing up my parents were upset because I have always been able to ghost. (Just be gone, nobody sees me leave). But all they had to do was look for a senior citizen. That we walked by.

The 'ol 'I'm so lonely' trick. Don't fall for it. The last guy that thought she was lonely and stayed is prolly still in her freezer, or at least some of him is.

I too have been a solitary figure, lone wolf all my 68 years; but not lonely either. I seem to prefer it that way. The Road Less Traveled has always been my style. Now that I think of it, most of my jobs have been one-man operations. Curious indeed.

Older like, she could show you a thing or two?

Or, older like, she might have a Werther's Original in her purse for you?

Larry, you showed up with Biden signs and she invited you in. Run Forrest, run!

The day before it was her fault, now it's your fault. :)

A nursing student getting the Wuflu should be good for extra credit.

I'm single and I love my security building. No drop-ins, they have to get past the gate. Last time my doorbell rang I was like WTF. It was the Amazon guy who did not know he could leave everything in the mail room.

Take it easy on the long-time member. ;)

I also have that ability. In my family we called it an "Irish Exit."

Sadly I lost most of it when my knee got shattered. Smooth motion is ignored. Jerky motion is noticed. Occasionally I can still pull it off.

Best of luck with it in the future Larry. Nothing so great as the feeling you get having just escaped an uncomfortable social situation.
