Haven't read the whole thread so this may have been posted. I just watched it on Hulu and it's one of the best I've seen. The Last Full Measure (2019) Based closely on a true story. I may have had some allergy problems at the end.

    The Old Guard: 5/10

A disjointed story that couldn't decide if it wanted to be Guardians of the Galaxy or John Wick. Poor story and character development but lots of obligatory action. There's a whole lot of stuff that just doesn't make much sense but if you are are looking for a high action shoot-em-up there are much worse films out there.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS ALERT AND MINI RANT:
What's with the lollipop axe? The lead character has been pursued for centuries and her bug out location is an old cave she used to hide stuff in? (Where's the penthouse in the consortium owned NYC skyscraper? Everyone knows you invest when you're immortal.) Why did she give up on finding her "friend" who was thrown overboard? Especially now that the technology to map the ocean floor is commonplace?

I saw they had conning tower art in the film. Never seen that in any pictures. But a Google search shows that it was a real thing, and very common; https://uboat.net/special/emblems/

Yeah...you just gotta enjoy the film for what it is. For me, it was too short. But that shortness seems realistic, since it would make sense that the Captain would have to direct the ship for the entirety of the air-gap time period, without rest. So the movie's length is by default limited to that period of the transatlantic trip.

Sinking 4 U-boats on his first convoy duty is the part that ruins the realism, but oh well, it's a movie. Hopefully it gets more people interested in military history.

Survive the Night. 2/10 just awful. When did Bruce Willis downgrade himself to a B list actor?

Johnstown Flood on IMDb TV - 8/10. I've heard it mentioned most of my life but didn't really know anything about it. What a horrific disaster.

Diva, a movie that not only features two of the ugliest hit men in cinematic history but a hero just "too cool for school" in every way. Everything works in this French film. I give it 10/10 if viewed in original format with English subtitles.

I've been watching movies on a movie streaming website out of the Netherlands called 2Bmovies and I have seen some excellent movies lately. I just watched Appolyptico directed by Mel Gibson (2006) about the Mayan civilization and it was really good with a really good story.

And I Like a lot of the Coen Brothers movies and watched "O brother wheer art thou" which was xlnt in spite of George Clooney in the lead role. I also saw "Ms 45", a revenge movie with an actress in the lead role who was incredibly sexy in an off-beat way, and "Lucy" with Scarlett Johnanson, which I'd seen action scenes on youtube, but the whole movie was pretty good.

Two nights ago I watched Knives Out on Amazon. 9 out of 10
It is a really fun Clue like murder mystery with an impressive cast.

Last night was Ford vs Ferrari. Also a good movie with some good track scenes.
As with most movies, I did catch a few mistakes, but overall it was well done.

Venom. I found it on YouTube, where they break up movies (cut out some parts) to "show" them while skirting copyright laws.

It really didn't do much for me. When I can find it on one of my already-paid-for movie channels, I'll try it again as a full movie.

    Project Power, 2020, on Netflix.

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7550000/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

It was good... I was a little surprised, it is a "gritty" action movie with no joking around - which I am not used to these days. Not a fun or happy action movie.

Probably a 7 out of 10... could be 8 for some people.

I am tired of the tripe about a big, bad corporation behind everything.
