Last night on a movie channel: "Man on Fire"

I know what's coming and I still cringe. Pure Washington: "I wish you had more time".
    Plus Walken.

The story could have been told in a more straightforward way and someone like Daniel Day Lewis would have been much better in the lead role.

I've never been able to take DiCaprio seriously as an actor but I was impressed that he did surprisingly well in "Once upon a Time in Hollywood."

Worth watching just because the guy was so crazy. I had watched it when it was first on Discovery Channel or whatever years ago but watched it again because it was on Amazon Prime.

Birds of Prey. This is the Harley Quinn movie.

Meh... LONG. Even though it is your standard 2ish hour movie length, definitely feels like 3+ hours.

(shrugs shoulders)... not "bad", just long. Movie is the obvious first in a series, so the first 9/10 of the movie is basically introducing everyone AND their backstories.... yesh, just goes on forever.

Who knows... maybe follow up movies will be better?

    6 out of 10 I guess.

I liked it, kind of corny but still heartwarming.

Captain Marvel. Only because I wanted to get clear on her story before watching Endgame.

Sigh...5/10. I liked Black Panther better.

Endgame is appropriately titled. After that, I do think I have had enough of comic book movies.

Though I did really like The Punisher on Netflix (the series with the guy from Walking Dead.)

Maybe its just my age but I can't get myself to enjoy any of these "super hero" comic book based movies. Its not the physical impossibility of the characters or the plot, since I enjoy some other science fiction which is not more real, but the general cheesiness of the dialogue and acting combined the lack of any internal consistency. But this thread did get me thinking about how much I miss the ability to go to the movie theater and to lose myself in a film on the big screen. Where I live we only have two theaters, both AMC, and now that AMC has announced that they might never be reopening their theaters, I may be in for a very long hiatus in my movie going even when this damn virus is no longer an issue.

Double feature at Hound's Drive-in last night: The Goonies and Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. 8/10 each. I was annoyed once again that there was no giant octopus. I know there was a giant octopus when I first saw the movie. (No Mandela effect there either)

Disney's Artemis Fowl. Watched it with the Mrs. and our youngest. Tried to, anyway.

Two nostrils up. Fell asleep about 15 minutes into it, woke up about 30 minutes later, went upstairs and watched an episode of The Unit on Hulu.

    Knives Out.

Similar to a couple other reviews, good fun movie! Actually, it is a little dark, so "fun" may not be the correct word.

Combination of "Clue", Agatha Christy murder mysteries, etc etc.

Cast is mostly recognizable people, including Daniel Craig, Jaime Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas (I recognized her from the latest Blade Runner remake), Don Johnson (!! where'd he come from?), Christopher Plummer, etc. They all do a really good job. Wife was impressed with Daniel Craig's southern accent - he does it very well. Lots of twists and turns in the plot, which of course after the "reveal" you realize that clues are all over the movie - along with a ton of "clues" to mislead you.

    8 out of 10
