Watched "Honey Boy" on Prime Video last night. Odd to see an actor playing his real life father. Fascinating movie but very depressing. Makes you wonder how many "child stars" have horrible lives like the one portrayed in this film.

Watched the first couple episodes of "War of the Worlds" on EPIX (through Amazon Firestick). Next day wanted to watch more but I guess it was a one time only free thing - now they want $5.99 a month. Oh well.

War of the Worlds was pretty good! What I saw of it... French movie with either very good dubbing or was refilmed also in English language. A modern updated version of War of the World.

Meh. Even for an Apocalyptic action movie, which is a genre I enjoy when I don't want to have to think, it was not very good. 3.5/10.

3:10 to Yuma. Not a new release; I found it in my Not Yet Watched stash. Classic Western with Russell Crowe.
    Good stuff!

I watched that for the first time a few weeks ago.
Pretty good. Both leads did a good job.

    Gleason 9/10

The documentary about the football player, not Jackie Gleason. On Amazon Prime. Took me 3 tries to watch the whole thing.

So I managed to watch the rest of the 1st season (2nd season isn't out I guess, if they make one).

It was not as good as it could have been. It was interesting. A lot of things they did made some sense, except.... Walking down the middle of the road! So the survivors are going around getting supplies and trying to find people. Alien machines are going around looking for survivors. Walking through a city or town, survivors just la-de-da down the middle of the road - not going along the side, not going carefully from house to house, not stopping periodically to listen. That got annoying, lol!

If there is another season, I'll watch but not go out of my way to.

Just watched "The Martian " with Matt Damon, about an astronaut who gets stranded on Mars; it was very good.....

The Revenant. About a 6.5/10. First third to half was pretty good, then started going down hill for me. Went on way too long. Can stomach only so much grimacing DeCaprio. Toward the end I told my wife "This is like a pioneer version of Forest Gump". She was like "How do you get that?" I said "Like Gump you have one guy going through all these WAAYY over the top events in one life that no 20 people combined would make it through." By the end of it I'm thinking either old Mr Glass or the guy who made this movie is a mighty big story teller. Maybe it's a lot of both.

That is one thing that bugs me about many Walking Dead / FTWD episodes, too.

Until recently, my avatar was a picture of Big Brayden.

Now try "Jesus Shows You The Way To The Highway"

Very good movie. You should consider reading the book (if you haven't).

The other night I saw " Here Comes the Boom" with Kevin James; I loved it, it was a little light hearted escapism in the midst of all this doom and gloom....

Lucy in the sky...(Natalie Portman, and John Hamm)

about that wacko female astronaut a few years ago, wearing a diaper to chase after her lover.

when i'd wake up after each short nap, i was like, "is this still on"?

    boring as all hell.

so at the very least, it helped me take another nap.
