At first I thought it was a mirage.

And then I looked it over and was in complete disbelief standing in Walmart starring directly at boxes...

But then came the final stage of this epic tale when I noticed how much Walmart was asking for WWB ammo...

    :faint:

    Holy crap!

I haven't seen any of that stuff on the shelves in quite some time, even for a hefty price.

Last week I paid $24 for a box of 50 Blazer 45 ammo at the range/gun shop. Went there today and the same box was $36. Bought 1 box instead of 3 since I was there anyway and ready to shoot.

You paid $36 for a box of Blazer? Sheesh... guess I'm lucky to only pay $19 for boxes of Remington .45ACP and $18 for boxes of Independence at my local shop.

Ummmmmm, $17 per 50 round box is a FREAKIN STEAL these days folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My FOUR NEAREST Wal-Marts NEVER have any ammo of any kind (except hunting calibers, and they are useless to me@), so you should be thanking your lucky stars for the opportunity to pick some up!:wow:

Remember, I live in South FL - all the ghetto gangbangin POS' snag all the ammo because their ghetto friends all work for Wal-Mart!!!! It's NOT a mystery folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At $34 per 100 rounds I would have wiped out the shelf!!!!!!:wow:

I just found some today at a gun shop, the 50 round box, paid $22 for it and was glad to do so. My wife got a new .380 and I want to run some ammo through it before she can carry it. I would have gladly paid $34 for 100. This won't be a range gun so I look at it as a one time cost and at the moment .380 is way hard to find.

Yep, I would have bought all 3 boxes of .380. I haven't seen a box locally in a few months, and have come up dry trying to find 50 round boxes online as well.

By the way, that Droid takes a decent pic :)

I think some of the earlier responders failed to notice that these are 100 not 50rd boxes. While $17/50 isn't a screaming hot deal, considering the .380 shortage, not too bad, not that I have a .380 to worry about feeding. Don

I picked up the only 100 count .380 box I have ever seen at Walmart, that was about a month ago maybe. I think I paid $32?

I bought my limit of 6 boxes last night. I didn't even know they had .380 ammo. $200 for 600 rounds ain't bad and I like shooting my LCP. A LOT.

Yeah, the sad thing is if you look down in the picture the .40S&W ammo is 17 a box. Making it only $34 for 100 rounds.....I think I would rather buy the .40.

No kidding, I don't know where some of these folks live, but I'm with you... My WalMart prices are the same as yours. And, if there's none available, I buy online.

wow the price check! There are better deals elsewhere and even online, but then again some sucker will walk by and snap it up.

Those 100ct boxes of 380 are only a few bucks more than they were before the shortage. $33 now compared to $29 in early 2008.
I have noticed a $1 difference in price at the Wal-Marts within 25 miles of each other though.

My Wal-mart had some 9mm for $32 for 50 the other day, and not JHP. I asked what the deal was, they said since they can't get any of the lower priced stuff, they were ordering that now.
