I got this video in a .rar format and no player plays it. Is it corrupted? I can't burn it with nero.

Thanks. Any other programs that are free to uncompress the .rar file?

At the bottom of the Wiki I linked in, there are links to these sites:
    http://www.philipp-winterberg.de/software/rarzilla_free_unrar.php
    http://www.7-zip.org/
    http://www.zipeg.com/

Each of these also claims to some degree of free-ness. I have not tried any of these latter ones, but I have used the free trial of WinRAR. Mostly, though, I am a Linux user, so I don't have much call for this. Maybe someone else has a favorite.

I have tried a lot of progams and none of them can sucessfully extract this .rar movie. Thank for the help. I will try more tommorow so that I don't pull my hair out. A lot of them don't even recognize it. Some of the programs Winrar try to get me to sign up for junk e-mail.

Winrar v3.6 or greater has worked for the hundreds of rars I have unpacked.

Considering you have a movie in .rar you can get Winrar v3.61 for free from the same place you got the movie.

Also, download the VLC player from videolan, this works for almost all movie files.

ConvertX to dvd to put these movies in a format for a dvd player

I have gotten .rar files I couldn't open, along with other file types. It usually turned out that something was corrupted / missing in the file, and when whoever sent it to me re-sent it, everything worked fine. Something to try.
