Okay, let's be honest, that isn't true. Yes, I am outspoken on Taurus, specifically but not limited to Taurus under the new management. And with good reason. I have also been honest about the issue I had with a Taurus revolver I once owned. I've also stated, numerous times that specific models made by Taurus have had systemic issues (under previous ownership). So I've been very balanced. However, I have no issue pointing out the nonsense espoused by others bashing that is incorrect. In like fashion, even in this thread I get accused of Sig-bashing when in fact I currently own three Sigs and have owned many others over the years. I speak about Sig in a similar balanced fashion. Sig-loyalists don't like when I'm critical of Sig just like Taurus-haters don't like it when I speak favorably about Taurus. Yet they forget the times I've spoken favorably about Sig and negatively about Taurus.

Not calling anyone a liar in particular, just staing that I believe folks to be liars when they claim to have thousands upon thousands of trouble free rounds through their Taurus pistols. I am convinced that folks who buy 200 dollar pistols aren't likely spending thousands on ammo. I could be wrong.

As for Taurus, based on my own experience over the years... Yeah, they are junk.

When people make derogatory, sweeping, blanket statements from the safety of their PC, about things and/or people they don't know...yes, they're wrong.

    Who the hell said 20?

I think I’ve owned 6, of which I laid out in a previous post.

    You said this:
"I’ve owned many Taurus firearms, Dave, perhaps more than yourself."

Dave had previously said he has owned 20+, so if you owned more than him...

    I said “perhaps”.

I don’t keep track of how many junk guns people own. Why in God’s name someone would buy 20+ Taurus firearms instead of buying a few quality guns is beyond me.

    Funny Dave

I don’t keep track of how many Taurus handguns you have owned. Not exactly something I’d wear like a badge of honor.

    Like I said above...

Since I'm apparently a liar, please disregard my previous post of having 9 Taurus handguns and needing service only once for magazine springs. I moved up the food chain to CZ's (which I like much better than Glock, so there) not because of any fault of the Taurus guns I owned but because I wanted a CZ P-01 for EDC, I am not brand dedicated and I'm not shy of saying somethings no good. I just haven't had cause to slam Taurus because it's Taurus. Posting that I could not have shot thousands of round out of the gun's I posted a picture of is absurd. How could you possibly know that?

Over the course of 30+ years I've purchased many firearms from many different manufacturers. One, because this is America, I want to and I can. Two, because I'm an instructor and want to have as diverse a base of knowledge because my students shoot a variety of different firearms. Three, because it's a lot of fun to try out new firearms from different companies. Four, I've enjoyed the Taurus firearms I've owned, with that one exception I've noted numerous times. And even that one was 'okay'. And despite the 'opinion' of the other guy above, I am one of those people that have shot thousands of rounds through numerous Taurus pistols without a problem. If I carry a firearm or simply like a firearm I tend to shoot it a lot.

Then you shouldn't have quoted me and said you 'probably' had more than me. I clearly stated a couple of times in this thread the number of Taurus pistols/revolvers I've owned over the years. This and perhaps read other member's posts a bit more thoroughly if your going to quote them. That isn't too much to ask.

I do actually. First, because I can actually discuss many of the Taurus offerings from firsthand experience rather than make blanket statements (this comment isn't aimed at you specifically). Secondly, it gives me experience on a multitude of different offerings from many different companies, including Taurus. Third, I'm not worried what someone on the internet may think about my multitude of choices (Taurus or any other company).

I said “PERHAPS”, which means MAYBE. It doesn’t mean probably.

...and the post I quoted of yours said nothing of 20+ Taurus handguns. I don’t read all your nonsense, Dave.

Yeah I'm thinking that isn't going to be enough to change the taurus reputation for several more years to come.....not sure it will make much of a difference.

    That’s a damn cool story.

I’m quality over quantity every time. I own a few guns worth 50+ Taurus handguns, but wouldn’t trade them for 100, since Taurus have no resale value.
