    Hi guys,

long time lurker, first time poster.

I went to hahn yesterday and saw a RANGER brand 1911. The tag says "
made in england, assembled in vietnam". Price: P18,000 for the hi-cap. Anybody have any experience with this gun? Im thinking of buying one for my first 1911 pistol. Im not really into serious competition, just some "mini & friendly competition" with friends.

one more question: hi-cap or not?

    Thanks for your inputs.

@flyboy1.....alis na ako mamaya, kita tayo next time ulit, baka sa feb na

welcome to the forum. ok na ang ss for plinking/informal comps. you might want to consider the norinco instead, its a better pistol

Yung Trojan clone ni Doc EC used to be a Ranger pero frame na lang yata ang Ranger doon, everything else were replaced.

Sa budget mo, 1st choice ko would be the Norinco because of the forged steel frame pero gastos ka pa para mapaganda, magaspang kasi ang gawa. The RIA or Armscor would be next, aside from Philippine made pulido na rin ang gawa.

If you have the extra money Armscor hicap 40 na lang kunin mo.

I'm maskytrading...new in this forum...as in 5 minutes only, It is a good pistol (1911) but rough out of the box, P.B. Dionisio Custom shop can refine and add anything you like. And if your budget permits, buy an SS and HC at the same time.
I bought a HC last february from PBDionisio with an internal extractor still, btw, ranger Hicaps have external extractors now which to me is not cosmetically pleasing to 1911 afficionados. I had it done by their Custom shop i.e.
a)grey finish, with black backstrap, light brown wood panels
b)optic fiber front, I retained the novak-novakan fixed rear
c)chromed (hammer, magwell, slide release, ambi safety)
d)Aftec extractor, STI trigger sear disconnect ti fpin, etc
In other words, I overhauled the entrails and lastly, I had the barrel sleeved at 6in. and added some porting to the extention. Looks like a toy gun now!! But total cost is still way below Branded stock 1911s SS or HC

yung hicap ng Ranger 1911's uses a Peter Stahl frame. its a proprietary design so not all 1911 aftermarket parts will fit it.

here's a pic of my Imperial Defence Ranger - STI Trojan clone, the all black pistol with the sti cocobolo grips. wala na natirang Ranger part dyan but the frame.

kung bibili ka ng complete pistol tapos palitan mo lahat ng parts and frame lang matitira in the end, tignan mo yung mga Armscor or SAM 1911 frame kits. I think less than 10k armscor and 6.5-7k SAM frame

As for my next project: .45cal single stack - waiting for its arrival. I had plans of joining IPSC-standard-singlestack and IDPA.

Kaya ako rin napabili ng holster for IDPA, mag-pouch for the single stack, extra magazines, .45acp bullets, bullet-case etc. etc. etc.

Hello Eye Cutter... You have very beautiful guns especially the Ranger/STI piece... I'll ask the OIC of PBDionisio if indeed Ranger HiCaps uses Peter Stahl frames since they market it also at around 18K while I acquired mine for 20K plus only exclusive of the license and bond etc..Maybe the frame is also a clone of P. Stahl...One thing though, my Ranger won't fit in an Amadini Holster I bought from PBDionisio and I had to swap it with an air rifle..I dont have a digicam nor does my cp but will try to post a pic of my ranger and a colt clone that I have.

wala kasi bumibili ng peter stahl frame kits, that's why they decided to use it to make the hi-caps. wala naman hi-cap line ang imperial defence.

si churchil or si jeremy gumagawa ng mga pistols ko.
