    Feel-good video of the day.

On Saturday, October 30, 2010, the Opera Company of Philadelphia brought together over 650 choristers from 28 participating organizations to perform one of the Knight Foundation's "Random Acts of Culture" at Macy's in Center City Philadelphia. Accompanied by the Wanamaker Organ - the world's largest pipe organ - the OCP Chorus and throngs of singers from the community infiltrated the store as shoppers, and burst into a pop-up rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's "Messiah" at 12 noon, to the delight of surprised shoppers.

I've been waiting for someone to comment. I thought it was neat to see so many people enjoying this, regardless of age, race or sex. Sometimes, we all can get along.

    Amen to that.

I wish I'd been there. To have that break out "spontaneously" in the most secular of all places... a shopping mall (well store, really) in the build-up to the Christmas shopping season... reminds one of the reason for the season.

Not getting all "religious" here... just can't help but be moved after watching it again. Sorry... I seem to have something in my eye.

And you're right. A bunch of Americans just getting along and doing something beautiful together. Awesome!

I would love to have been there. For years I have been wanting to travel to a major city for Handel's Messiah by a renowned orchestra.
