Just looked at the weather forecast for Morganton and it looks as if it might be raining next weekend. I don't have any prior experience so, if it really is wet, do we still shoot? How's that handled?

Rain or shine the show goes on.

Morganton always has plenty of EZ up tents so it will be OK.

Yesterday evening they were calling for 80% chance of rain for Saturday. It's already down to 40%. Hopefully it'll change even more... to no chance. LOL

    For me it would be:

Thunder and lightning--- He is over there hiding, scared to death.

    Rain only--- shoot away.

Conyers 2010 was a wet one for me (1st match I ever shot in the rain) - we had mud and water everywhere, but the targets didn't care; they wore their trashbags in style.

Cardboard targets get covered in clear plastic baggies. You must know where the scoring rings are, as you will not be able to see them. Bring rain gear and boots just in case.

Many years ago, the Waldorf, MD was delayed about two hours on a Saturday due to a tornado watch and extremely heavy rain. The match went on, but it was muddy, slippery, nasty and plain old sloppy. Then it got hot and humid. I could never wash the red clay out of my white Nike crosstrainiers so I had to toss them. Now I always carry a pair of boots.

Year before last it was an absolute downpour.
BRING rain gear and water proof boots.
Be prepared for heat, cold, rain, sleet, and snow.
Oh yeah, bring some sun screen and a lawn chair too.
You can always borrow a gun, but not many will give up their gortex.

Remember the knee deep water shooting the plate rack at Jersey?
