Is there an alternative to purchasing the upgrade to Quicktime Pro on an iMac. I occasionally want to download video clips. Quicktime used to do it but the latest version will not without the upgrade. (It came with OS 10.4.)

IE for the Mac uses QT to handle download tasks so it doesn't work either.

I can afford the $30 but it still irks me to have to pay for what I think should be normal functionality. (WinXP seems to have this capability built in.)

    Thoughts?
