Hey guys just wanting an opinion on this. Just picked up a new upper and went to clean it before going to shoot it for the first time and found a good sized burr about halfway down the barrel, assuming from the gas port?? So should I just exchange it at the dealer or should I just shoot it out? was mainly just worried about either the bullet hanging up or the accuracy going to heck. opinions? Thanks fellas

I would contact the place you bought it at and ask them before shooting if its big enough to notice.

Just shoot it, the burr will go away after a few shots. Is it a chrome lined barrel?

Not uncommon. You can run some patches, but generally shooting will take care of it.

Well after reading some responses on here, talking to the shop where I bought it, and doing some other searching, here is the verdict. I used the bore brush and ran it down 10+ times then the bore snake a few times it looks about 90% gone. So now I will just try to shhot the rest out. If it was not such a nice barrel I would have thought about going to the dealer and swapping it out, but I'm just going to run it and see what happens. Thanks all.

The one thing that shows is that barrel was not test fired before it was sold.
