My friend bought a TCP yesterday for $300. We went out shooting today and I was very impressed. First off for the haters, this gun is made in the USA.

I only had the opportunity to shoot 12 rounds out of the gun because my friend only had a 50 round box of junk ammo and 20 Speer Gold Dots, so I will give me abbreviated impressions.

This little gun has an excellent trigger for a budget minded pocket 380. The pull is smooth and the reset, however a little long, does offer quick follow up shots. The gun is comfortable to shoot, no pinch points that I could find.

I found it to be accurate as well at the 10 yard distance I was shooting. With slow controlled fire I placed 6 shots into the area of the average sized cellular phone. The sights are very low profile and would be of no use in dim lighting, though you can line up a shot in the daylight.

The slide does hold open on the last round, something the LCP does not offer, much to my chagrin. Two magazines were also included with the gun, which should be standard in my opinion. Ruger doesn't seem to feel the same way.

There were no failures in the seventy rounds fired. 50 of which were sellier and bellot and 20 Speer Gold Dot.

Maybe if I can get a good price on my LCP I'll pick up a Taurus TCP!

I have to agree with your review, after I bought my TCP, I sold my LCP... The trigger is much better, and the recoil seems less... What a great little gun.

You are spot on regarding the recoil.

........and when it breaks you will get it back in 3-4 months, vs Ruger in a week.

The few Taurus arms we have had to send in for repair were back in about three weeks.

face it, loving taurus firearms is like being gay. you have 3 types of people:
    1) tried it, liked it
    2) tried it, hated it
    3) haven't tried it, bash it based on what #2 said.

I looked at the TCP but I really have no intention to pocket carry. I wear loose shirts all year so once I get my hands on the new 709 slim I'll have my alternative. American Rifleman seemed to like the TCP as well though.

That's funny. I thought most people simply weren't gay because they feel, think, or know that it is quite disgusting, immoral, and counter-productive.

I would imagine they work about as well as an LCP. I really doubt
the OP's glowing assessment that the Taurus is better.
Nothing against Taurus, I like most Taurus guns, but the LCP is
a nice little gun for what it's made to do as well.

American Rifleman doesn't review guns, they advertise them.
