So I went today for semi annual visit to the same dentist I have had for over 10 years: They normally take 4 x-rays. (Sometimes they skip it.) Today the hygienist want to take a "complete set." The thingie they put in my mouth is always painful. Today, after 3 x-rays I asked how many she planned. "Eighteen" she said. "No we are done now" was my comment. "Just let me take the wings like usual." So four more x-rays. Is this standard practice? I don't remember anything like this before. Also..the dentist didn't actually examine me-he just consulted with the hygienist and then scheduled what she found. (Today 2 cavities.) That's new too. I bet he billed my insurance for a dental exam.) Is this modern dentistry?
