IMO: Best gun deal out there in pistols. This is a Beretta pistol that is now produced in Turkey to lower costs. (Don't be shy about Turkish guns they make some of the best shotguns too...).

It rotating barrel design is now used in the polymer Beretta PX4. In this case, its an alloy frame topped by a steel slide. Nice!

    Super-accurate.

    BUY!

BTW: Berreta owns Stoegar, Bennelii, Sako and close ties to Urberti.

The Cougar is a great pistol. Beretta stopped making it when they switched to the PX4, but Stoeger's gun is the same thing.

Good gun, accurate, pleasant to shoot. Not the best choice for carry due to size, weight, and that stinking Beretta safety (IMHO). Sold mine a few years back--I don't really miss it, but I do still think of them fondly.

Finish might not be as good as when Beretta made them, but it's the same tooling, same gun.

<--- had a Beretta 8040 Cougar and liked it quite a bit. Great ergonomics

    IMHO

Best secret quality polymer pistol with a great price is (or was) the Steyr M.

Best secret quality steel pistol with a great price is the Stoeger Cougar.

    Get both, enjoy both!

Just for the record, there was someone on here a while ago who did a side by side comparison of the Stoeger and the older Beretta. I think it was concluded that aside from literally one or two minor changes they were essentially identical with parts being interchangeable. Only difference was of course price.

I agree with all of the above. I have a Cougar in 9mm and it's been an excellent performer. If it were stolen or destroyed, I'd go out and buy another.
