    sirs,

this might have been asked and answered before but i just would like to ask na rin po ulit cause i can't find the thread about it.

if i happen to break my frame for whatever reason, do i have to get a new license for the new frame since the new frame would have a new serial no., right? what then happens to the license of the old frame? or the old license would be amended lang ba?

    thank you.

    IIRC,

You get an affidavit of 'loss'/'destruction' so that FED will strike
the registration from its database (you don;t want to keep renewing
the license on a non-existent firearm, eh?). If you declare a loss,
then the parts are yours. If 'destruction' you may have to surrender
the remains to FED. Again, that's IIRC. Best to check with FED.

    Then...
You can buy a new frame the normal way ---licensing and registration
required, since the law considers a frame to be a whole firearm.
(But personally, at that point I'd just get a whole new firearm, and
keep any salvageable parts from the ruined gun.) You can call up FED
for advice, without having to give up too much personal info.
    Good luck.

    :)
