Is it just me, or does it seem like ammo became scarcer and gun prices went up since the Obama administration took office?

Ya know, I think you may be onto something. I've heard several people comment on that, but as far as MY guns and ammo, havn't noticed them becoming scarcer, they are about what they used to be or maybe even a little more.

But then, I live close to WalMart, so I always have low price value available for my shopping needs.

Yes, prices shot up in the months following the 2008 election.

People went on buying frenzies buying up ammo and firearms - especially those firearms thought most likely to be banned (AR's, AK's, etc). So of course, the availability of these items decreased while the prices increased.

But as with most buying frenzies, it eventually tapered off. Things have settled down and prices and availability have almost returned to pre-election levels.

There is certainly no shortage of evil black rifles right now and prices are very reasonable. Rifle ammo is plentiful again and prices have come back down to nearly what they were pre-election, and in some cases even lower than what they were.

Handgun ammo, however, still remains a bit more scarce. You can still get it, but prices are a lot higher than what they were say 18 months or 2 years ago, and places like Walmart or various online vendors just don't have the selection and availability they once did.

Yes, ammo is scarcer and more expensive since the 2008 election. Even Leftist organs of propaganda like National Public Radio have aired segments dealing with this issue.

Additional Leftist organs of propaganda such as the New York Times have reported the Left's intention to add burdensome ammo regulations since their attack on gun ownership has largely failed.

If gun owners acted in concert and refused to purchase any ammo for a month or two prices would come down and the supply would be much more abundant.

I knew I should have sold my Russian SKS for $600 when I had the chance! Now that price is just a pipe dream.

Actually it started a couple of years before Obama crawled out from under the Chicago trash to run for President of the world. All of this would have still happened but on a smaller scale.

That's what I summarized as well.

    Interesting about the NPR segments.

I should have sold off my stash of 7.62x39 for $300 per case a year ago. I could have replaced it all (and then some) today for $200 per case.

LOL - I didn't really think much about it,
as I haven't been focused much on shooting for the last 18 months or so.

Have been traveling a lot, running - then selling a business, moved halfway across the country, etc.....

As stated above, really haven't had time to pay any attention....
(Have been out of the country - is that not a good enough reason?)
