I'm going to get a 9mm conversion barrel for my Glock 23. At this time I have no need for a threaded barrel but as long as I'm buying a barrel I thought it may be a good idea to buy the threaded one. Is there any limitation on use of the threaded barrel - i.e. if I run a couple thousand rounds through it with nothing attached does it degrade or damage the barrel in any way? Thanks in advance, your posts are always exactly on point.

There is no problem running a threaded barrel. You cant hurt the threads by shooting it! If you have any concerns, I recommend you purchase a thread protector. This handy little bushing will take care of most any problem up to and including a drop on the concrete. Cheap insurance for an "opps, aw-crap moment".
