Would this fit a standard 1911 frame?
it looks like an officers slide, shorter than a commander size.
You have to cut the standard dustcover, though. Minor fitting would be required. What my gunsmith does is to lube the rails and use a plastic, non marking mallet to tap the slide into and out of the frame. It's a time-consuming process, but you'll end up with a smooth-gliding slide.
Try www.centerfiresystems.com. They have good prices on complete RIA pistols, as well as Armscor shotguns and revolvers.
Thanks for the replies.
I always avoid importing FA here in CA. FFL will charge you arm(s) and leg(s). And some dealers are hesistant to ship FA even if it's CA approve.
i think it's ok to fit the commander slide and even an officer's without cutting the dust cover. aside for additional weight in front, it will look good. commander and standard size frames have the same specs with their holes, except with the dust cover.
sir vega, it's an RIA officer slide 3.25". I bought one from romram (also a BoG member) and had it fitted to my standard frame. However, col. bayang cut the slide by .25" coz my armscor officer barrel is only 3.0". I had the blade rear sight changed to novak style sight and the stick-on front sight to dove-tailed sight. Here's the pics..
officer slide to standad frame (actually it qualifies for defender model na coz it's a 3-inch barrel)
rg - Thanks for the feedback and that's a nice pistol. To have it gunsmithed here beats the purpose of buying cheap slide so I'll pass. I would want drop in slide.
