If I have a handgun that I want to sell in Texas, are there any special requirements that I follow? For example, when I buy one from a dealer, they fill out a yellow sheet, do a quick check to see if I'm able to own a handgun, etc.

If I want to sell to another person, am I responsible for checking their background, etc? In other words, how would I know if the person had a criminal background or not? Would I be responsible if I sold to someone that was a convicted felon?

Also, is there any special paperwork that must be filled out for a private sale?

    Thanks,
