I was just lurking around here when I saw the thread about this guys Glock just going off in the middle of the night trying to kill himself and his oblivious wife. I was just curious if there was ever any resolution to this. I thought he mentioned sending the pistol back to Glock.

I didn't see that thread, but "Come on, man!", that's got to be some shenanigans.

I was part of that thread. No clue as to the final resolution. I asked him if he inadvertently grabbed the gun and pulled the trigger while sleeping looking for the snooze button. Basically calling him out for being an idiot and leaving an unsecured gun out.

Not in the history of man, on this earth anyway, has a GLOCK ever discharged by itself. Never. Ever. Not gonna happen either. Ever!

I've owned a few Glocks in my days, and never, ever had one try to kill me or my wife.

Even though my assembly of machined parts will never try to off me in the middle of the night I still choose to point the barrel away from me. I figure it would have to do one shot to spin itself around waking me up giving me time to remedy the situation.

I've never heard of such happening with Glock. Glocks simply don't fire while lying unmolested on a stable surface.

I assumed it was a story from someone who enjoys getting their kicks pulling other's chains.

I didn’t see that post here, but I saw one similar on 1911 forum. Probably the same guy. He didn’t get a very warm reception there, either...

Watch that slam fire! It packs a whallop!

Also, beware the wiggle shot! Twerking is strictly prohibited.

Joking aside; IF you were to be in an area that is impacted by an earthquake or exceptionally strong bass audio, that could trigger a slam fire on a firearm that has been set down. Any gun that goes off while being perfectly still is obviously defective. ...or it belongs to Plaxico Burress.

Hey dood I was just wondering about a topic I saw someone else bring up previously . I never said it happened. I’m sure you can find the original thread. Don’t take my word for it.

Yea I think someone here posted the link to the 1911 forum. Some pretty wild allegations but crazy if true.

I still think he grabbed it in his sleep. If the gun fired by itself, it wouldn't be in the same position on his nightstand, it would've moved or fallen off. He grabbed it in his sleep and pulled the trigger and put it back down. Or the internals were bubbasmithed beyond safe. I understand leaving a cocked and locked 1911 like he is used to sitting around without a holster but not a striker fired gun. even my 1911/2011 with safety on stay in a holster on the table.

I have been keeping an unsecured gun on my nightstand for decades.

The author of that story in the link may be spreading Fake News. He only came back once to the 9 page thread to tell people that all the doubters were all wrong and there was zero possibility the trigger was pulled by him, anyone or anything. He also stated he would only tell those who "PM"ed him what the armorer he was taking it to deduced. Those who PM'ed him got no reply and no reason for the supposed self firing was ever given. He appeared (by his statements) to be a 1911 person and didn't think he could get a fair response on GlockTalk. Why he (supposedly) had a 17 on bedside duty and not the "Colt rail gun" he used and carried regularly was not explained either.

Just like the MSM, the Left, most of Congress and the democrat party, apparently a fictitious story was created to try to bring down an opponent who otherwise has a strong and loyal following.
