    Hi JR,

this may seem like a petty question, but should you change out your mag release on your pistol every so often????

I have noticed on my magazines, the indented part where the mag catch engages the magazine is kind of "knicked" on the top part of the indentation....

was just wondering if this was normal, ive shot about 1000 rounds through my 19..

    thanks

    Bruce

Good question but no worries. I never have seen a mag catch wear out... never. Not even using metal mags.
Regarding the damage to the mag catch slot of your magazine: This damage is on the lower side of the slot. This is caused by slamming the mag into the gun, you are in effect, actually over seating the mag. This is no big deal! The material will only peen over so far and then it will stop. All you need to do is carve off the rolled material and you will be good to go. There are absolutely no worries regarding this issue. The Glock mags "hang" on the mag release by the top of the slot.... Not the bottom
