Is the Amateur Guardian class the same as Amateur Civilian except that it is open to officers and such as outlined?

If i shoot in Amateur Guardian can i also shoot in Amateur Civilian?
Just wondering and thanks in advance :)

Nope. Just one or the other but not both.

If you are in law enforcement or military you can shoot Amateur Guardian but not Civilian. Retired military and retired law enforcement have to chose one or the other for the first match after retirement, and then stay in that category. I suppose "under cover" police should shoot Civilian while on that type of assignment for obvious reasons.

Nice, next time read the rules before you type.

170.70 Cross Over Those eligible for the Guardian
division are defined below (170.80). All others
compete as civilians. Competitors in the Guardian
division may, at their option, choose to “cross over”
and compete in the Amateur-Civilian division at a
particular match. If they do so, they may not
compete in Amateur-Guardian at that same match.

From the 2005 Glock Report, Vol 1

    thanks for the replys,
It looks like i will be shooting my G17 in Amateur Guardian and my G23c in Master stock (if i can) and Master Unlimited just for fun.

It looks like I dont have any other options except to put a uncomped barrel in G23c and i dont have one.

I was seeing how many classes i could shoot in as i wanted to shoot as much as possible during the two day event :)

    Hope to seeya there :)

The G23C is not allowed in the Master Stock class. PM me on what day you will be shooting at the Lexington match and I might be able to help you out with a stock G23 barrel.

I'm glad you guys cleared that up 'cause I once had a job in the Army where I was credentialed to the Soviet General Staff, so I didn't know whether I should be shooting "under cover" or not - but I thought before that was only if it rains...'cause sometimes you shoot under cover, other times you're out in the open. They do both at Oakdale, but then that's Minnesota and I'm just lucky they let me thru the St. Croix River checkpoint.

You guys crack me up. Always great to get a smile in the AM. ;f
