im going to be planting a fig tree from a "feeder" type root, or sucker i think is the name......

my question is, how far from a water line must these things be planted?

i dont want to container grow it due to the in and out of the house for winter......

is 10 feet far enough that it wont destroy a PVC water pipe? how about 20 feet?

anyone have experience with this? will normal watering keep it from seeking out my sewage line and clogging it up?

i ask this here because the Figs will be for food use, preserves and just plain old eatin' figs.

im already doing the lemon tree thing in a pot because it HAS to come in doors in the winter, but i just dont have the room for a Fig bush and a Lemon bush inside.....

    thanks.
