Yes I know they are not allowed, I read the rule book. Good now that we have that out of the way. I was wondering if it would be legal to paint the tube completely black, and then on the end facing the shooter, paint it white. Not fluorescent or anything reflective, just plain white. It would closely resemble the stock front sight. Has this been accepted as a solution, or will it still ruffle feathers in AM/CIV?

    Thanks.

Sounds like you may have one solution. Per the rules: 40:30 item 5--"Please note that fiber-optic sights must have the fiber optic remover OR covered in order to be used in "stock" divisions".

It sounds reasonable to me but you would need the approval of GSSF.

White would be a cover wouldn't it? Sounds reasonable to me but, like CGR said, Scott, Chris or Dave would need to bless it. :)

I checked on the GSSF site, how can I contact Chris, Dave, or Scott to ask them this question?

    Thanks.

Just a quick update for anyone who might be interested in the outcome of this thread. Talked with Scott Gilbertson at GSSF this morning. As long as I remove the fiber optical properties, ie, paint it black, don't allow light into it, I can keep the tube in the site. And I can also paint a white dot on the end facing the shooter. Sounds like a great compromise for being able to use the same sight in IDPA and not having to totally remove it when GSSF comes to Dallas.
