I would really like to relocate to the area. The job market seems good. My question is about age requirements. I will me 34 in March is there a mandatory cut-off age in either North or South Carolina when it comes to hiring? I have been unable to find any info.

    Thanks,

    Scott.

I was a paramedic in central NC (the Triangle area, is you've heard of it) for 13 years or so...no, no age limit as far as I'm aware. Work aroud here is feast or famine, pretty good right now. Mix of third service/county-run EMS and some privates, no FD EMS agencies. Let me know if you would like more info, I can send you a link to agencies that are hiring.

Most agencies do not have an age cut off.

Check out the North Carolina Office of EMS employment page

    http://www.ncems.org/employment.htm

    What certification level are you?

Just so you know many agencies don't use it, not sure why.
As in our case we are ten spots to fill in month or two as we putting on some more trucks and another shift.

There seem to be a lot of openings along the Gulf coast. I just got hired on with the F.D. here in Gulfport MS.

Come to SC and you'll have a job in a week if you have common sense to go with your pulse and patch. Just about everyone is hurting for Paramedics.

The next papramedic class in Columbia has 50+ students in it if that tells you anything. Starting pay is usually between $15 to $18 an hour in a lot of places.
