So I bought the Lone Wolf 40 - 9 barrel for my G23 and I am wondering,

What I need / want is the Glock 19 9MM magazines right? (Here in NJ the mag capacity is 15 so that's the biggest I can order)

    Is this right?

Thanks for the help as always! -Scrap:wavey:

I'm interested in the answer too. I also live here in NJ. Now I may want to take a look at not only the G17 but also the G23. Is there a downside to this. To buy a G23 and most of the time use it to shoot 9MM??

Yep. In a pinch, your G23 mags will actually work, but get the G19 mags anyway.

Thanks a lot brotha. Just wanted to make sure.

I had considered doing the .357 convo cause it would be fun to pack a .357 glock I'm sure, and the word is that the G23 mags are perfect for the .357 rounds, but the idea of the 40 - 9 for me is shooting 9MM at the range on the cheap / stocking ammo for shtf on the cheap, and having the stopping power of .40 for HD/PP ... but .357 is supposed to be more money and harder to find than .40 so defeats the purpose IMHO.

    much appreciated D.

For reliable extraction/ejection you should at least swap out the ejector. They are different for a reason.

I have shot around 100 rounds through my 40-9 LWD barrel with g19 mags and the g23 extractor and have not had a problem if your using it for range work and not ccw I would not worry about changing the extractor.

the ONLY thing you NEED is your barrel to drop in in place of the original one and you will want a magazine either a glock 17 or 19 mag. I have over 700 rounds now through the LW barrel 40-9 conversion in my Glock 23 2nd gen and have not had ANY malfunctions with just the barrel and mag change..you need NOTHING else unless you just want to go spend money of stuff.

700+ rounds with the glock 23 ejector and no malfunctions say its just fine no change needed.

100% I ran a magazine of 9mm through my glock 23 mag just to see what would happen worked 100% but I still recommend the glock 19 mag.

Hawkman I had a similar question.... Most of the feedback has been (at least with th 40-9 or even 40-357) was it's gravy baby, all smothered... Just drop the barrel in, put the loaded mag in and shoot... Bam!

I am not so sure I'm comfortable replacing th exjector or extractor... I'm not really that technically capable I don't think... But you're saying it's not safe to do w/o ?

Thanks btw! More info the better! -Scrap

Changing the ejector is a SNAP SCRAP:whistling:
From what I've seen VERY rarely will you have to mess with the extractor and even rarely the ejector
If you can change conectors your more than half way through to the ejector swap
Put the barrel in,load it with 19 mags and shoot-plenty safe
with the conv barrel if the gun is 95% I'd be happy-if you want better try a 9mm ejector
CONV BARRELS ARE FOR FUN/COMP-NOT FOR SELF DEFENCE

Thanks Steel Head... and I completely understand and agree...

The ONLY reason I got the 9MM barrel is for being able to shoot more and for less money at the range.... and maybe have some small stockpile of 9MM ammo just in case , if possible, having extra if SHTF.

I bought a .40 for a reason, and it's locked and loaded with .40 all other times other than at the range saving money IMHO.

Nothing dangerous in NOT swapping the ejector. Go for it.

You can get glock 19 magazines, but your glock 23 mags will hold 15 rounds of 9mm just as well.

PS. Finally someone from Jersey on this forum. :)

Hawkman just want to confirm, nothing dangerous means :

1:-] and most important, nothing dangerous physically to me and people around me ( i.e. kabooms! etc)

and 2:-] nothing dangerous to the gun?

Thanks! Much appreciated as always! -Scrap

    Howdy,

    +1.

I have +10,000rds through my G23's LW 40-9mm conversion w/out a single hiccup and my G23 is 100% OEM except for for the LW barrel.

You do not have to change anything except the barrel.:wavey:
