Per the GSSF Schedule there was a match at Salt Lake City , Utah June 27th/28th, 2009. Did it happen? Did anyone go? Anyone care to give a report and maybe some pictures? I have not seen anything mentioned except on the schedule.

Don,

I believe that match was canceled a few months ago.
Danny;

Thanks. I just saw it still on the printed schedule and the drop down schedule on the registration form. Guess I missed its cancelation.I looked at the Club web site and it sounded like they were having a awful time getting enough club members to volunteer to work the match. Ashame after committing to it and then not getting enough support to run it, but that happens sometimes.

Time to get prepared for the Canton, GA match in 18 days.

Practice well, my friend. You need to get your scores back below the 100 mark, and you can do it.

...and let's
get 10 masters in each division so they will give more guns :faint:
Wow, I knew nothing of the cancellation and I was planning on going. Glad I didn't send in the registration, pack my bags and drive up there for nothing! :) I guess it was a good thing mom had open heart surgery the week before after all...
The only match cancelled this year was Ft. Hood, TX on May 16-17.

Salt Lake City went off as scheduled.
Oops, the match date was 6/27-28. I'm bad, but Don, being older, is badder.:wavey:
Well did we all get the "snub or what"? There is no mention of any reports from the match. I looked at GSSF web site and looks like only 114 showed up. Without the club and shooters talking it up it will not grow and the prize package will always be minimum. I would have loved to have heard some comments and seen some pics of the range and area. That should be some beautiful country to see. I hadn't really planned to attend but I have gone as far as Las Vegas twice to shoot GSSF some it wouldn't be totally out of the question sometime.

Just my thoughts.

It sure did take place! I was there shooting my first match ever. It was a blast! I had a great time. Good people. I took a buddy with me and he had a camera but I did not. I won’t embarrass myself by telling you my score but I was in the top of the bottom 25%. And if I shot the Glock 'M as well as the other 2 I would have been closer to the top 25% :whistling: I am fine with that score though, plenty of room for improvement. I also got to meet and shoot with Dennis Tueller who happened to be teaching my Glock Armorer course the following week. Great course and instructor. I may not have shot great at the GSSF match but I did score a 100% on my Armorer test. :tongueout:

Don good comments. Being brand new to this I didn't know any better. But now that I am a veteran GSSF shooter :whistling: I'll be promoting it next time around for sure!
Cruiser;

Thanks for the comments and report. Congratulations on enjoying your first match. Now that you know what to expect you will definately improve. You have the right idea. If you want a big prize package you have to bring in the shooters. The more shooters the more prizes and that is the local club and shooters who attended the match to talk it up and make it happen. If you keep a low turnout you could soon loose the match because there are plenty of clubs just chomping at the bit to get in on the action.
