Which side of town will you be in ?
No sense driving when you could be shooting.

If you want to shoot full-auto weapons, there is an indoor pistol/rifle range in Athens, GA. It's called The Firing Lane and is about one hour to the east. They have about 40 weapons available for rent, and the prices are lower than at most indoor ranges (though if you're renting full-auto, ammo can be very steep). It's certainly the best indoor range I've been to anywhere.

To get there, take I-85N until GA-316 splits off. Then, take 316 about 40 minutes until you get to the loop around Athens (it has a confusing sign, but it should say "Loop 10 North" somewhere) Take the Atlanta Highway exit, go left, and it's on your left after about a mile.

There's also a good Trap/Skeet place down by the Atlanta Airport (Tom Lowe's Shooting Sports or something like that). It was used for the Atlanta Olympics, but they don't have any pistol shooting.

If your on the Northeast side of Atlanta then Bullseye Marksman is a short (depending on traffic/construction) drive up 400 North to Cumming. It's really a first class range, very clean, nice staff.

Just Google it for their webpage and directions.

Bullseye Marksman is decent. There's another Bullseye in Lawrenceville. That one sucks. Georgia Gun Club is very nice and no membership required. Trigger Time is nice. Ranges, Guns, and Safes is decent.

If you are going to be on the NE side a short run up 985 will take you to the Wilson Shoals WMA. It is a 80 yard outdoor range. Weekends are crowded but during the week there are few people there.

Either a permit or a current hunting license.

But they also never verify the data when you sign in...
