Just heard from my friend at the FED this morning that all civilian permits to carry are suspended indefinitely. Announcement of a "State of Rebellion" is expected soon. To anyone who has more direct access to the FED, please confirm this announcement.

Hope this whole thing blows over. Parang ang luwag ng pantalon ko without my holster!!!

I'll never understand the logic (or lack thereof) over there with the suspensions of carry licenses. I think times of civil unrest are the most important times for good people to be armed and capable of defending themselves and their families, but then what do I know.

Since folks are expected to stay indoors and at home, then their ability to defend themselves is not too badly compromised. 'course, not everyone is able to stay indoors and at home.

screw the people who are trying to grab power, this will surely hurt the fragile economy again. I hope they burn in hell. And the tragedy is, there are still thousands missing in Leyte and all these self serving SOBs can think of is a power grab.

I just hope it is just a short and temporary suspension of PTCFOR, and not actual cancellation. I have 3 live PTCFOR at the moment. And PTCFOR will once again be suspended from Feb-Jul 2007 because of elections.:(

Stay safe and let us all be good boys.;f

Does anyone know what other rights and privileges are "suspended" when a state of emergency is declared?

I was wondering whether the cops could conduct warrantless searches in private vehicles/homes in such a situation.

As far as I understand, the constitution still stands in a state of emergency, which means court orders are still needed for searches and seizures.
